In 2018, Vinh Do, travelled to the island of Côn Sơn in Viet Nam to understand the island's unique history and understand how a brutal colonial past and a brutal civil war affected the islanders. He found a serene island where citizens have moved on from the past, transformed it, and chosen instead to embrace a positive future. This became Brave Change Works' origin story.
Vinh created BCW to honor the process that allow people to transmute difficult experiences into great learning and leadership opportunities.
Vinh thanks the pivotal experiences he received from the following places: Seattle University, The New School/Milano, Merrill Lynch, the Peace Corps, the Seattle Office of Civil Rights, and NTL Institute.
Vinh holds certifications in organization development, mediation, and intercultural development. His graduate studies was in human resources, organization development, and coaching.
